About Art Fair East

ART FAIR EAST is an important annual art fair for the East of England. Our mission is to showcase respected galleries, dealers and artists to an Eastern region audience of art lovers, collectors and businesses. The event provides visitors with the chance to see both a wide range of artworks by international and regional artists, plus meet many experts and artists at the event. Norwich is a popular tourist destination, one of the UK’s major retail centres and boasts a number of commercial galleries and museums. Through national and regional advertising in luxury life style and visual arts publications, the fair aims to draw an audience from across the East of England. The event is supported by an ongoing PR campaign during the lead up to the event.

The Assembly House

Art Fair East takes place in the grand setting of The Assembly House in Norwich city centre. The venue is situated in the heart of the cultural quarter of the city, near jewellers, restaurants, cinemas and galleries and is well located to attract high net worth individuals that visit and live in the city. Norwich is a popular tourist and retail destination. It is an established university city and UNESCO City of Literature. The city has a population of approximately 213,000 people and is the county town of Norfolk, with a population of 859,400. The county forms part of the East of England and lies adjacent to Cambridgeshire, Suffolk and Lincolnshire. Through strategic publicity in national and regional media, Art Fair East aims to create an event that attracts collectors from across the Eastern Region and beyond. Norwich is one of the UK’s most prosperous shopping destinations and has a strong service-based economy, being the headquarters for major companies including Aviva, Virgin Money, Archant Publishing and other insurance and financial services companies. The city’s largest employment sectors are business and financial services, public services, retail, manufacturing and tourism. Norwich is well connected an can be reached via road, rail or air. It is an hour from the Eastern region’s other urban centres such as Cambridge and Colchester and within reach of London in under 2 hours.

About The Organisers

Brian Korteling

Brian Korteling is an award-winning visual artist with background in graphic design. He exhibits locally and nationally and has organised a range of exhibitions in the region over the past 10 years. He works mainly as a painter but also produces site specific and 3D pieces.

Will Teather

Will Teather is an internationally exhibiting artist, an Associate Lecturer at Norwich University of the Arts, a visual arts writer, art collector and has been a Trustee of the Anteros Arts Foundation. He has being involved in the organisation of exhibitions internationally and written for national and regional publications, including as a main contributor for the award winning guidebook for the region, “Art! East Anglia”.
